🧰 About the Role
As a Fitter, you will work with metal components, machinery, and mechanical systems, ensuring their correct assembly, alignment, and performance. You’ll play a vital role in installation, maintenance, and repair work in industrial and engineering environments.
🛠️ Key Responsibilities:
➤ Interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications to determine materials and operations
➤ Fit, assemble, and install metal parts and subassemblies for machines and equipment
➤ Operate precision measuring instruments to ensure correct dimensions, alignment, and tolerances
➤ Set up guides, stops, and controls on machines and tools
➤ Shape and form metal stock using machining tools (press, cut, drill, grind, plane, bore)
➤ Cut, thread, bend, and install hydraulic and pneumatic piping systems
➤ Diagnose faults, maintain equipment, and repair mechanical parts and fluid power systems
➤ May assemble and install machines and equipment on-site
✅ To Qualify, You Must Have:
➤ Minimum of 3 years’ working experience in roles such as General Fitter, Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Technician, Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician, or Service Technician
➤ Able to provide at least 3 years of recent work references and salary evidence (e.g., pay slips, employment certificates)
➤ Working with PLC-controlled equipment and can perform basic machining, welding and fabrication
➤ Proven experience in mechanical fitting, assembly/disassembly, machining, and equipment maintenance
➤ Skilled in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints
➤ Good English communication skills
➤ Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and commitment to safety
➤ Valid passport and readiness to process Australian work visa requirements (police clearance, employment and school records, etc.)
