How We Use AI
Last updated: August 2026
1. Why We Published This Page
We use software with artificial intelligence ("AI") in parts of our recruitment work. If you are a candidate, an employer, or just reading our website, you should be able to find out where AI is involved and what that means for you. This page explains it in plain language, without jargon.
If anything here is unclear, or you want to know whether AI was used in something that affected you, please contact us — the details are at the bottom of this page.
2. AI in Candidate Identification and Shortlisting
We use an in-house tool we call CPIT (Client Profile Identity Targeting). When an employer asks us to fill a role, CPIT searches our own candidate database and the applications we have received, and suggests the candidates who look like the closest match to what the employer has asked for. It helps our recruitment consultants narrow a large pool down to a manageable shortlist.
What it looks at
CPIT works from the information you have given us and the requirements of the role, including:
- your trade, profession, and job titles you have held;
- your qualifications, trade certifications, and licences;
- your years and type of experience, and the sectors you have worked in;
- skills and equipment you have listed;
- your location, availability, and your right to work in the country where the role is based;
- the role requirements the employer has given us, such as the skills needed and where the work is.
What it does not do
- It does not make the final hiring decision. It never has the last word on whether you are offered a job — the employer makes that decision.
- It does not reject you on its own. Not appearing on one shortlist does not remove you from our database or from consideration for other roles.
- It does not analyse your face, your voice, or your emotions, and it does not attempt to assess your personality or character.
- It does not score you against other candidates using information bought from data brokers or scraped from social media.
A person reviews every shortlist
Before any shortlist leaves us, one of our recruitment consultants reviews it. They can add candidates the tool did not suggest, remove candidates it did, and they speak with candidates directly as part of our normal process. Nothing about you is decided by software alone.
3. Your Rights If AI Was Involved
If you have applied to us or are in our candidate database, you can ask us to:
- Tell you whether AI was involved in a shortlisting decision that affected you.
- Have a person review it. You can ask a member of our team to look at your application again themselves.
- Explain a decision. We will explain, in plain language, the main reasons a decision went the way it did and what information it was based on.
- Object. You can ask us not to include you in AI-assisted shortlisting and to have your profile considered manually instead. This will not count against you.
- Correct your information. If your qualifications, experience, or work rights are recorded incorrectly, tell us and we will fix them.
Just email us at enquiries@tprc.com.au or use our contact page, and say what you would like us to do. We aim to respond within 30 days. There is no charge for any of this.
How we handle the personal information behind these requests is set out in our Privacy Policy.
4. AI Voice Assistant for Employer Enquiries
Employers enquiring about our services may be offered the option of speaking with an AI voice assistant instead of filling in a form. Using it is always optional — an enquiry form, our email address, and our phone line remain available, and you can end the call at any time.
The assistant tells you it is an AI assistant at the start of the call and asks for your consent before recording. It gathers details about the roles you are trying to fill so we can prepare a written summary for you. A member of our team reads that summary and follows up with you personally — the assistant does not decide anything about your business or price our services. Our Privacy Policy explains what we record, how long we keep it, and how to ask for it to be deleted.
5. AI-Assisted Website and Blog Content
Some of the articles on our blog and some of the copy on this website are drafted with the help of AI writing tools. Every piece is read, edited, and approved by a member of our team before it is published, and we are responsible for what appears on our site. Case studies, client outcomes, and figures we quote are checked against our own records.
6. Human Oversight and Our Limits
People remain accountable for the outcomes at every point above. AI helps our team work faster through a large candidate pool; it does not replace their judgement, and no candidate or employer outcome is finalised without a person involved.
To be clear about what we are not claiming: we do not hold any AI certification, accreditation, audit, or regulatory approval, and nothing on this page should be read as a claim that we do. This page describes what our tools actually do today. As our tools change, we will update it.
