This video is more about you than it is about me. It’s not about business, it’s actually about life and getting the most out of it. And I’m going to share the five key things that I do on a daily basis that I believe are going give me a longer, happier, more fulfilled and active life.

So let’s get into it. Number one, I get a minimum of seven hours’ sleep every night. So I aim for eight but I generally get seven, seven and a half hours’ sleep every day.

minimum of 7 hours sleep

Now, I think this is one of the most key elements to longevity. I’m not going go into all of the why’s in these things because there’s plenty you can research it on Google. But just simply anxiety, health, weight loss, it all starts with getting a minimum of seven hours’ sleep every night.

Number two for me is my alarm goes off at 4:50 every day and apart from giving the dog her heart medication, I meditate for 20 minutes.

I do transcendental meditation. This resets my mind and puts me in a really calm position. I get more done during the day and I have much less stress because of starting the day with 20 minutes of mediation.

Next, I hit the gym and HIIT is the operative word there. I do high-intensity training four days a week. And this I believe is the best bang for your buck. So high intensity, which is like a minute on, 20 seconds off or 30 seconds on, 10 seconds rest. This high-intensity training gives you benefits throughout the entire day and I believe from an effort in and results out that HIIT training is really the best way to go. So I do that four days a week. On the fifth day, I have a leg day. And that’s because when I’m 84 years of age, I don’t want to grunt when I get off a chair.

But realistically, this is more about an active life and legs and core strength are going to be what sets myself up for getting the most out of life as I start to age.

And number, where are we up to? Number four will be my cold showers. So I follow The Iceman, Wim Hof and firmly believe the benefits of cold showers.

cold shower

And this morning was the coldest day in Perth so far this year, six degrees. The cold shower was not a lot of fun but again, the benefits that I see from this are absolutely enormous. And one example of that is that I don’t ever go a year without a cold or two. Have done forever. And since I started my cold showers in November last year, haven’t had one cold. So there is some evidence there but I believe that there’s a lot more to it than just boosting your immune system by having cold showers every day.

And finally, it’s not what I do but what I don’t do. I don’t eat until 11 o’clock every day. So I do intermittent fasting, pretty much around about 16 hours of fasting and I eat within an eight-hour envelope.
Again, Google the benefits.

intermittent fasting

Absolutely huge. I’ve been doing that for a very long time and I believe that this is going to have some great benefits for me as far as longevity is concerned.

And finally, there is actually a sixth and that is sharing this. And that’s why I’m asking people today, I don’t normally ask to like and share my videos. This one’s not about business,
it’s about life and getting the most out of it. So I want people to like and share this. I share this within my team.

like and share

So I’ve got a team of over 20 people now and I share my journey with all of them and we had another town hall today.
Most of our team are in the Philippines and I ask people to share and we’ve got someone that’s now up to 150 jumping jacks. She does 10 every day and there are people that are intermittent fasting. When I started this, there wasn’t one that was getting seven hours’ sleep every night.

Now all of them are getting seven hours’ sleep as a minimum, mostly during the week. So the journey that I’m on is now sort of catching and other people are getting the benefit from that.

So I really believe that sharing this journey for others to look at and perhaps take something away from is super, super important. It’s actually more important than just looking after myself.
So again, Greg Holmsen, Philippines Recruitment Company. I do hope you’ve been able to get something out of this. A little bit different today but please share it, like it, get it out there.
I do want to be able to hopefully touch people’s lives in a really positive way. Cheers!
