      Dino's Story - A Filipino Worker Perspective

“Thanks to TPRC, I am now living my dream—working in Australia as a Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic. Since 2023, I have been proudly employed at Direct Freight Express in Brisbane, QLD, and I continue to grow with my original employer, building a brighter future.

Though I haven’t moved with my family yet or secured permanent residency, this journey has been incredible. TPRC went above and beyond to support me—not just in securing this opportunity but in helping me transition smoothly into my new role and life in Australia. Their guidance and commitment made all the difference, and I will always be grateful for their support.”

Brisbane Pump Action - A Client Perspective

The construction industry in Australia is really hard right now. Every trade is struggling to find workers. I didn’t really do much. I just called, and TPRC handled everything.

I iust wrote out the same ad (we’d been using for five years), gave it to TPRC and she came back with a bucket load of people.

When it came time to trades testing, they could actually put their skills to practice, it was really impressive,

Their English was a lot better than I thought. Once they got here, they’re easy to communicate with.

      Frequently Asked Questions

How long does the process take?

Timelines vary depending of skill and migration requirements, but the process typically takes at least six months.

Are the candidate’s trade skills and experience recognised in Australia?

Yes, most skilled roles require a skills assessment from an independent Registered Training Organisation (RTO). This process considers prior experience and demonstrated skills and results in the granting of a Certificate III in the relevant trade.

      Do Filipino candidates speak English?

Yes, Filipinos receive schooling in English. Their ability to communicate, along with their strong work ethic and good cultural fit are key reasons in them being the most sought-after overseas workers, and a strong basis for integrating well into an Australian workplace.

Do I need to provide health insurance?

No, it is the candidate’s responsibility to maintain a current policy. However, we assist our successful candidates in setting up coverage before they arrive in Australia.

Can I sponsor a worker immediately?

To sponsor an overseas worker, your business needs to have a Standard Business Sponsorship (SBS) in place. If you don’t have one, we can process your application in parallel with the recruitment process.

Do you have candidates already in Australia?

This is rare, but occasionally, we have candidates seeking a new sponsor. These individuals are usually placed very quickly.

Am I responsible for providing accommodation?

No, the candidates are responsible for their own accommodation costs. However, we may require your assistance in identifying suitable housing near the workplace, that has ready access to public transport.

What is the minimum salary I need to pay?

You must pay sponsored workers the same salary as an equivalent Australian worker. This must meet the current Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT). Contact our team to discuss specific salary requirements for your role.

How long is the visa valid?

The Skills In Demand (SID) 482 visa is available for periods ranging from 12 to 48 months. We generally recommend a three-year term.

      Can workers bring their families?

Yes, visa holders can include their partners and dependents (under 18) in their visa application.

What if the worker isn't the right fit?

Our success rate is over 98%, and most candidates become long-term employees. In the rare case that a candidate is not a good fit, we offer a two-year replacement guarantee.

      Is the paperwork complicated?

There is a fair amount of paperwork involved, but we streamline the process. You will be assigned a Client Service Officer who will guide you through every step and prefill forms where possible, leaving you to simply, review and sign.

Do workers bring their own tools?

No, we recommend that you provide a basic tool kit for the worker, which they can repay through salary deductions.

      Can workers drive in Australia?

Yes, a valid Philippines car or motorcycle license is initially valid in all Australian states and territories. However, they will eventually need to pass a local driving test.
