Client: EDMS Australia
5 Highly Specialised Pressure Welders
Highly specialised TIG and MIG pressure welders
Industry: Building & Construction
Location: QLD, Australia
Problem
Apart from an on-going skills shortage, EDMS were facing a critical shortage of highly specialised pressure welders. The role required:
- TIG and MIG welding at a world-class level
- Flawless, zero-defect precision welding
- Ambidextrous welding skills
- Expertise in mirror welding for hard-to-reach areas.
Local recruitment efforts failed to meet these demanding technical standards. With previous success employing Filipino workers, EDMS Australia needed a reliable, long-term recruitment solution to maintain their high-quality standards.
Recruit
TPRC collaborated with Tyrone Krause, Construction Manager & Director at EDMS Australia to define exact technical needs. We then used our database, established marketing methods and AI technology to recruit suitable participants.
Sourcing & Screening
We conducted rigorous background checks on certifications, trade licenses, and hands-on welding experience.
Practical Testing & Evaluation
Prior to EDMS review, candidates underwent hands-on welding assessments to test real-world skills, ensuring they met global industry standards.
Face to Face Trade Testing in the Philippines
EDMS Australia’s team travelled to Manila to personally test 15 pre-screened welders.
- The candidates demonstrated mirror welding, ambidextrous techniques, and precision handwork under real working conditions.
- The top five welders were selected based on performance.

“A very streamlined, seamless process. TPRC provided us with exactly what we needed—highly skilled workers who were not only qualified on paper but also excelled in practical testing. We are very confident in the workers we’ve chosen.”
“We will be highly recommending TPRC. They made the process simple, and we’d suggest them to any Australian company needing skilled Filipino labour.”
