Major Projects

Client: Major Projects

300 Linemen (Steel Erectors & Riggers)

High Voltage Overhead Powerline Construction

Industry: Infrastructure

Location: NSW, Australia

Problem

This major infrastructure project required a large, skilled workforce capable of delivering world class results on-time and within budget. Skilled, trained candidates needed to land in Australia exactly when required to drive productivity gains through the project.

Recruit

With long term relationships and a large existing database, we recruited over 4,000 candidates.

Review & Assess

Applications were reviewed and assessed in detail, with consideration of meeting very specific skill requirements and ensuring candidates pass critical qualification requirements.

Train

TPRC coordinated a two-week offshore training program in partnership with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO), ensuring candidates completed their ‘statements of attainment’ in Rigging, Dogging, and Working at Heights. Strong coordination between offshore training and onshore licensing was required.

Lodge

The migration requirements were all part of the up front screening program to ensure all candidates would meet the Australian migration requirements prior to commencement of training. The program was able to secure 100% success of all visas lodged.

Deploy

Upon arrival in Australia, licensing was completed efficiently, enabling candidates to mobilise to site and contribute to the project immediately.

Key Results

  • 4,176 candidate applications
  • 588 candidates presented to client
  • 100% visa success rate
  • 99.6% licensing success rate

“The training facility that we have here, I would say, without a doubt, would happen to be the best in the Philippines.  We’ve got a mobile crane set up, an elevated work set up, structures set up, we’ve got everything we need.”

Sid Osborne, Lead Trainer
